This is the second massive modification of prepaid plans after the arrival of Jio in the market. Reasons are not clear from any operators but one of the reasons might be the IUC. IUC stands for Interconnect Usages Charge, this is a small amount of sum charged by the receiving operator when call received from a different operator.

New Prepaid Plans

Bharti Airtel

Bharti Airtel has done a great modification in its current prepaid plans. They removed some of the plans as well. You will see a great change in their new prepaid plans. They used to have 6 different 28 days plans with unlimited* calls but in their new revised plans, they reduced it to 3 and their prices are almost double now. In a similar manner, they removed the famous 558 plan which used to provide Unlimited* calls, 3 GB per day and 100 SMS per day for 82 days. Now there are 2 plans with 84 days validity of 598 INR and 698 INR and their benefits are Unlimited* calls, 100 SMS per day, and 1.5 GB/D & 2 GB/D respectively. And the yearly plans’ benefits are unchanged but their prices are more aggressive now. The revised plans of Airtel will be applicable from 3rd December 2019.

Vodafone-Idea

Vodafone Idea has only revised rates of plans promising unlimited mobile and data services and has also introduced some new prepaid plans. Unlike Bharti Airtel, Vodafone-Idea’s plan benefits are almost the same. They just hiked the price a bit. The above chart will clear all the doubts about the revised plans. The revised plans of Vodafone-Idea will be applicable from 3rd December 2019.

Reliance Jio

Jio was one of the first telecom operators who announced a hike in their prepaid plans. Like Vodafone-Idea, Jio also didn’t change the benefits of their plans but hiked their price by almost 40%. “While remaining committed to the ultimate interest of the consumer, Jio will take all necessary steps to help sustain the Indian telecommunications industry,” the company said in the statement. The revised plans of Jio will be applicable from 6th December 2019.
