According to a report from MacRumors.com by an Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that next-generation MacBooks will run on ARM-based silicon chips including 13.3, 14, and 16-inches screen MacBook Pro laptops and MacBook Air. In March, Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that new MacBook Pro will launch late in 2020, or early in 2021.

And a few weeks back, at the biggest annual event of Apple WWDC 2020 (Worldwide Developers Conference 2020) Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has announced that the first batch of their very own silicon chip devices will be launched with the end of this year. With the shift from Intel, MacBooks will run on ARM-based silicon chips, and this will end 15 years of dependence on Intel-based processors. Another report from iMore suggests that with the replacement of chips, we can expect a reduction in the cost of MacBook Air. According to the report, MacBook’s shipment increases this year (2020) because most of the people are working from home due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Also, Kuo cited in his report that, if the demand will increase then the shipment for 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will raise by 18-19 million units. If all these predictions got true, then we will have Apple’s MacBooks with ARM-based Chipset with the end of this year, or early in 2021. If everything went fine, then we can see Apple’s first ARM-based chipset by the end of this year, and complete transition in two-three years.
